Sushant Singh Rajput Death: Filmmaker Karan Johar To Be Summoned By Mumbai Police This Week - Reports
As per the latest reports, Karan Johar is likely to be summoned by Mumbai Police this week to record his statement in connection to the investigation in Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide
Sushant Singh Rajput passed away on June 14 after reportedly hanging himself in his Bandra house. After the tragic demise, Mumbai Police started investigating the matter and have interrogated around 40 people. Just some days back, Kangana Ranaut was summoned by the police but she couldn't travel due to the Coronavirus pandemic as she is currently in her hometown Manali but extended her full-corporation for the statement. Today, Alia Bhatt's father and filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt was spotted outside Santacruz police station for recording his statement in Sushant's suicide case. However, it is now said that the filmmaker Karan Johar is most likely to be summoned by the police this week and this news was confirmed by the Mumbai police.
According to ANI, they carried a statement on their Twitter handle which read, "Filmmaker Karan Johar's (in file photo) statement will be recorded this week in the Sushant Singh Rajput case: Mumbai Police.” There are reports that the CEO of Dharma Productions, Apoorva Mehta has also been summoned by the police. On Sunday, Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh had said in a statement which was carried by TOI. His statement read, “In 1-2 days Mahesh Bhatt's statement will be taken. Then under CrPC Kangana Ranaut has also been summoned. Whoever is needed we will summon.”
So far, the police have interrogated many people including some celebrities like his girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty, friend and reportedly roommate Siddharth Pithani, friend and producer Sandip Ssingh, YRF casting director Shanoo Sharma, filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, his good friend Mahesh Shetty, Dil Bechara co-star Sanjana Sanghi, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Aditya Chopra, director Rumy Jafry in the past.
